Halo Rev

Halo Magic!

Have you ever wondered why fairies are often depicted with a floral wreath, circlet or halo around their heads? The circle is an object of nature, representing the unbroken cycle of life, eternity and unity. Fairies, as guardians of nature, are very in tune with the changes of season that influence growing patterns. The symbolism of the fairy wreath or halo is also connected to the astronomical clock and the circular movement of the earth around the sun.

Imagine that you are placing a fairy wreath or halo on your head. Take a moment now to adjust it and consider how the fairy halo is connecting with some powerful points around your head: Starting with the back of your head, there are two extremely important hormone-secreting glands at just above the base of your skull, the pineal and pituitary glands. Your pituitary gland monitors the circadian (waking/sleeping) rhythms of your day and maintains your body's processes for health and vitality.

At either side the halo comes just to the tip of your ears, as a subtle reminder of the importance of active listening for acquiring fairy-like communication skills.

The pineal gland is thought to be connected to the sixth chakra, often referred to as the "third eye" in the center of your forehead. When activated, this yogic center (Ajna) helps you to transcend physical vision into the realm of the imagination.

And as for the ribbons trailing down your back -- perhaps those are to tickle you from time to time, reminding you to not take yourself too seriously!
